Last year, local resident Ella, began her journey towards employment with family-owned business Mitre10 Gawler.
Engaged in the School Leaver Employment Support program delivered by Barossa Enterprises, Ella was determined to achieve her goal of securing employment.
With a passion for gardening, Ella began work experience at Mitre 10 Gawler. Store manager Janelle welcomed the opportunity and collaborated with consultants from Barossa Enterprises to assist Ella in reaching her work and learning goals.

During her placement, Ella displayed dedication by taking on tasks such as watering plants, tidying up pots and organising products for the winter season.
"As an inclusive family-owned store, we are dedicated to providing a welcoming environment for everyone. This commitment extends to our work experience initiatives, such as our recent partnership with Barossa Enterprises," Janelle said.
Ongoing support was provided to Ella so she could make the most of her placement.
Recognising Ella's potential, Janelle decided to create a position for her. In early November, Ella was thrilled to be offered a job, officially becoming part of the busy store's team.
"Upon completing her placement, we were delighted to offer Ella a position with us, further diversifying our team," Janelle said.
Since then, Ella has thrived in her new role, with her colleagues providing support to help her succeed.
Mitre 10 Gawler is a proud, inclusive, family-owned store committed to supporting young people in employment.
Their partnership with Barossa Enterprises has been instrumental in helping Ella achieve her employment goals.
This commitment to providing a diverse and welcoming environment extends to Mitre 10 Gawler's inclusive workplace practices, which continue to bring positive outcomes for young people engaged in the School Leaver Employment Support program and the wider community.
Ella's journey serves as an example of what can be achieved through collaboration and community support, underscoring the importance of local businesses providing opportunities to young people requiring support.
