Anne Kernich Shortlisted for the Prestigious Gallery M Contemporary Art Prize


For more than 30 years, Anne has been part of the Barossa Enterprises community, bringing creativity, warmth and a passion for art to those around her. Today, we're incredibly proud to celebrate a special milestone in her artistic journey.


Anne has been shortlisted for the 2026 Gallery M Contemporary Art Prize with her artwork, Octopus—a remarkable achievement that places her among 45 shortlisted South Australian contemporary artists selected from 262 entries. The announcement highlights the high calibre of this year's competition and the significant recognition Anne has received for her work.



A Passion for Creativity


Anne has continued to develop her artistic skills through her involvement with Tutti Arts, where she explores new creative techniques and uses art as a powerful form of self-expression.  Her selection for this prestigious exhibition is a testament to years of curiosity and a genuine love of creating art.


About the Gallery M Contemporary Art Prize


Now celebrating its 10th year, the Gallery M Contemporary Art Prize is one of South Australia's respected contemporary art awards. Presented during the South Australian Living Artists (SALA) Festival, the prize showcases outstanding contemporary artists living and working across the state.


The exhibition features works across a diverse range of artistic mediums and celebrates creativity, innovation and excellence in contemporary art. Winners will be announced at the official exhibition opening on Friday 14 August 2026.

  • Opening Night: Friday 14 August, 6:00 pm (Gallery open from 5:30 pm)

  • Location: Gallery M, Marion Cultural Centre, 287 Diagonal Road, Oaklands Park

  • Gallery Hours: Monday to Saturday, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm

  • Admission: Free
