Community Lifestyle Connexions

Community Lifestyle Connexions provides tenancy support to people who;

  • Have an Intellectual Disability.
  • Are 18 years or over.
  • Would like to develop independent living skills.
  • Would like to socialise with friends as well as meet new friends.
  • Are eligible for funding through Disability SA or are self – funded .

Community Lifestyle Connexions provide support and training in the following areas;

  • Living skills, such as cooking, cleaning, washing, gardening, shopping, home safety and security awareness.
  • Relationships, self-esteem, sexuality, decision making, rights and responsibilities.
  • Health, hygiene and personal grooming.
  • Accessing community events, groups or individual leisure activities.

Community Lifestyle Connexions also provides support to the client’s family or carer whilst making this lifestyle transition by;

  • Including families or carers in the preparation and planning prior to the consumer commencing independent living.
  • Supporting families to continue their involvement in the consumer’s life while understanding the consumer’s need to develop independence and right to dignity of risk.

Community Lifestyle Connexions provides respite to suit individual or family needs;

  • Centre-based respite.
  • Crisis respite.

Community Lifestyle Connexions believe all people, regardless of ability, have the right to live life as a valued member of their community and contribute back to the community.
